Want to take an epic vacation with your family but don’t want to leave the country? We’ve got the perfect solution for you: head to Florida!
Florida is packed full of things to do and beautiful beaches. Here are our favorite Florida resorts for a trip with your extended family.
Aqualina Resort and Spa – Miami
One of the top things to consider when it comes to multigenerational travel is the hotel or resort. The resort needs to cater to various age groups and make sure there are amenities to suit every type of traveler, be it kids or grandparents.
Located on Sunny Isles Beach, Aqualina in Miami is a robust luxury resort with almost all amenities one can think of when traveling. The resort is equipped with a spa, dining options, swimming pools, and a program that invests in marine biology. They also have lavish grounds, and the staff is friendly, so you can rest assured you will have a great time on your vacation here!
Of course, by itself, Miami is a great location that has attractions to suit almost everybody, so opting to visit this destination guarantees a good time. When staying at Aqualina, you can rest assured of your safety and the security of your belongings, giving you peace of mind when you get out and about to explore Miami and the beautiful beaches.
Beach Club Resort – Disney World
Beach Club Resort is located behind Epcot and has walking access to the back entrance of the park and a boat shuttle to Hollywood Studios. This resort is a deluxe resort in the highest tier of hotels at Disney. It is luxury at its finest.
Families can stay in individual hotel rooms or at the Beach Club Villas. These villas can sleep up to 8 and include a kitchen and living area.
The pool at Beach Club is unbelievable! It is the nicest pool in all of the Disney Resorts. It features a lazy river, a pirate ship with waterslides, and a kiddie pool where you can build sandcastles. When you enter the pool, you will be in for a surprise because the entire bottom is sand, and it feels amazing!
One of the best ice cream shops at Disney World, Beaches and Cream, is located here. This is where you will find the famous “kitchen sink,” a delicious sundae with 8 scoops of ice cream!
Your family is sure to love The Beach Club Resort! It will almost feel like you are at a beach near Disney World, giving you the best of both worlds!
Ritz Carlton – Naples, Florida
Looking for a luxury, beachfront, multigenerational getaway with no passports required where you can also find some of the best sunsets in the world (guaranteed!)? Then head to the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida.
Located on one of the best beaches in Naples, Florida, Vanderbilt Beach, the Ritz Carlton is an incredible property your whole family will enjoy. Kids will love the family pool and beach. Teens can rent paddleboards, jet skis, go banana boating, or try out parasailing right from the kiosk in front of the hotel. Grown-ups will love the luxury experience the Ritz offers, and of course, a visit to the Gumbo Limbo restaurant and bar allows you to view the most amazing sunsets with a cocktail in hand.
The Ritz Carlton, Naples also has a kids’ program, full of amazing activities for kids 5 – 12, along with a wide variety of fun things for the whole family to do in the Naples area. I highly recommend this resort for your next multigenerational family getaway!
Four Seasons Orlando – Disney World
Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resorts is the perfect luxury oasis for families vacationing at The Most Magical Place on Earth! This resort has thought of absolutely everything to delight kids of all ages.
Located within Walt Disney World, this 5-star resort offers the most luxurious accommodations, including suites that offer multiple bedrooms for families who want to splurge on a fabulous Disney experience. Here’s the perfect itinerary for your family’s stay at Four Seasons Orlando:
Kickoff your morning at Ravello for the intimate Breakfast with Goofy and Pals, complete with complimentary family photos of the whole family.
Spend your days inside the Disney parks or take a little break and enjoy some fun at the resort.
Guests of all ages will love Explorer Island, the resort’s five-acre water park because it’s the perfect place to cool off and make a splash! First, relax on the lazy river together as a family, then let the kids brave the water slides and run through splash zones while the adults relax with signature cocktails on the plush loungers surrounding the gorgeous swimming pools. When family playtime is over, send the kids to make new friends hanging out in Volcano at the complimentary Kids for All Seasons Kids Club. Meanwhile, the grownups can treat themselves and splurge on decadent spa treatments, a round of golf, or a little quiet time at the adults-only pool.
A big family dinner at Capa is the perfect way to end the day. End the night with a little pixie dust and create awesome memories of watching all of the Disney fireworks as a family. You can even avoid the crowds while experiencing the perfect view on your park view suite balcony or at the rooftop Capa Bar.
Encore Resort at Reunion – Orlando
One of our favorite multigenerational resorts in Florida is the Encore Resort at Reunion. Encore is located just outside Orlando, with easy access to Disney World and Universal theme parks. The best part of staying at Encore is that it offers the benefits of a resort, but you have your own vacation home, depending on what best suits your family’s needs.
Properties at Encore Resort vary from four to 13 bedrooms, offering all the space you want, regardless of the size of your family. Many come with private pools, game rooms, movie theaters, and more, as well as a daily cleaning service. If your family likes to cook while on vacation, there’s an outdoor barbecue grill and plenty of patio seating.
Encore also has a water park, several restaurants, a kids’ club, a golf course, a fitness center, and even complimentary transportation to the theme parks. It’s one of those resorts where it feels like they thought of everything you could possibly want in a vacation. Families can explore the area or spend all of their time at the resort; there really is no bad option.
Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa – Sandestin
Located not far from Destin, Hilton Sandestin is Northwest Florida’s largest and newest full-service beachfront resort hotel. Here families can indulge in a wide array of activities. For example, they can build sandcastles together, get active together while paddleboarding or doing yoga, learn to roll sushi, or create a piece of artwork. Other activities include bike rentals, watersports, tennis courts, a world-class spa, day and nighttime kids’ programs, and child care services.
Plus, they have a free shuttle service to nearby attractions, including golf, cultural centers, state parks, shopping outlets, and the vibrant Village at Baytowne Wharf, which is known for its array of boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and nightlife.
